Volunteer work

I like to be a volunteer! Yes! I never think about that there is too much happiness during the volunteer work. That’s the reason why I spend time on it and really wants to do more!
Six mouths ago, I did not do any volunteer work. I always hear people saying that being a volunteer is very interesting. But now, I realize that volunteer work will bring you a lot of happiness.
My first volunteer work was in a community, my job is a teacher. That’s a rainy day, there are very strong wind on the outside. My classmate and I went to a community. I did not want to be late in the first time to be the volunteer, so I went there very early. But they did not open the door. We just can stay outside and crouched, because it’s so cold. Thanks goodness, the leader in this community came there soon, and she took some young children. Then we came into the house and stood in front of the warm air-condition. This was the best time in the world!! Soon, we warmed up and started to work.
I needed to teach a primary student, he is very cute and quite. But he is a hard-working boy because I saw that there were a lot of notes in his textbook. My job was to teach him some words, like big, small, long, and short. He learned it very fast, and he can memorize it well. So I can teach him very quickly. When I finished teaching him, we played together, I gave him my PSP, and he learned how to play games, to my surprised, he can learn how to play games very fast as well! He is a smart boy. I like him very much.
I did volunteer work for Ms. Bartell, too. Mike and I helped her to check student blog links. And cleaned the lobby, because there were a lot of things in the lobby’s corner. Those things were used in Halloween and Christmas’ party. Our social class’ teacher also helped us to buy McDonald. And we ate lunch together. That was very funny!
I remember that I also helped Ms. Bartell to translate a Chinese story. This story’s name is "little horse cross the river ". It’s very easy for me to read and understand in Chinese because when I was just 6 years old, I have already read this book. But if you want to translate it into English, it’s a little hard. Because some Chinese words can not translate into English words directly. I just could translate them into sentences.
I spend a lot of time on it, but I feel good because during these volunteer works, I learned a lot of things, I know that help other people is the same to help yourself, when you help other people, you can learn more things that you can’t learned before.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

During the Spring Festival, I went to Long Shan gymnasium to finish my 10h physical activity.
The boss who in Long Shan gymnasium called Wen Chen. He is a 40 years old man. He is very tall, and very strong. He has small eyes and big nose. His muscles are strong; he didn’t have too much hair. Just a bit of hair gathers on his calvaria. When I met him in the first time, I feel a little scared, because he is too strong and let me feel uncomfortable. But when I talked to him later, I think he is a very kind man. He is a conversable person, and we talked about a lot of things. He asked me what kind of sports I like to play. I said badminton and table tennis. He asked me:” Do you like to play basketball or football or something can let you perspiration and very tired? ” I said: No, I don’t like to do that, I’m thin and short, so I can’t play that. Mr. Chen thinks a while, and he said: well, if you don’t like play that, I suggest you to play…….
I followed Mr. Chen and we went to a house called Cardiovascular Machines training, Mr. Chen said: It will help you to exercise your pectoral. I was very surprised that there are a lot of adult in it. There are no teenagers in it except me. I feel a little confuse: Why should I “play” in this way??!! Mr. Chen said: These machines will help you to practice your physical force. It’s very important.
So I have to stay in this area for at least 10 days!! Oh my gosh!! That’s terrible! But I have to face it, and I know it’s very good for my health. If I just sleep and eat during this Spring Festival, I will be very fat…… that’s not good for health of course. In fact, it’s a terrible goal for me to achieve because I didn’t have any experience about it.
To my surprised, I completed the mission over. I exercise 2 hours a day. I think if you concentrated on a thing, and want to be better. You can exert you potential, and do a lot of things that you can’t imagine before. I just use 5 days to finish it, and I’m very happy that Mr. Chen was very glad to give me his verification. It means I finished a part of my homework, and I met a good friend: Mr. Chen. And I helped him to do things that he can’t do it by himself. I teach him about what is “pay it forward” (it’s another homework for me) I think if I have free time in the future, I will go there with my father, I think my father really needs to do exercise. It’s a good way too help him lose weight!

Guitar Club

To be a leader is a very interesting thing for me because it’s my first time to be a leader. and I really wants to help classmates to learn more about instrument.. I didn’t join any other club because I’m very busy about my own club. My club has more than 20 people in it. I have to make sure everyone can learn. Therefore, I will be a member of the club was divided into four groups, Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday I stay in class and to teach them. During this period, I get to know a lot of new friends, our relations are very good. They also can learn very well, so they learn quickly. I teach is also very easy. When I teach them, I also constantly improve their understanding of the guitar. My own level guitar is also rising. Because I am a self-learning guitar, so my basic of guitar is not very strong. Teach club members in the process, I also improve the basic of guitar skills for myself. At the first time I teach them, I fell some embarrassed because I don’t know how to teach them, although I prepare a lot of things to do. I fell nervous because I never to be a teacher before. But when times goes buy, I fell not very nervous. I can talk to my club members easily. And they can be my friends. There are two Korea students in my club. I can learn a little their language. That’s very interesting.
My best student is Zack. He is my classmate; he has short hair and short height. Look lovely. He likes to play guitar very much because he think it’s cool. When I teach him, I always feel easy because he know everything I talk. And he can practice guitar at home, when he has problem, he always call me, and I help him to solve this problem. We are good friends and we can improve our guitar level together.
Another best student name is Julia. She is a talent in guitar. I just need to talk…and she can obey it and practice…no, she doesn’t need practice. She can play it immediately. I think it’s impossible. But it’s true. The biggest problem is that she is not a hard-working student. So I can’t teach her more, although she is a talent girl. I should tell her she need to work hard.
A new term will come. It’s a challenge for my club. I need to help my club mates. Let more student to join school’s show. That’s my response.
